We're excited to announce a new spring training run for 2026 with our friends at Sports Basement in Berkeley. With three inclusive distances, you can accelerate your Broken Arrow training with unique, challenging and hand-picked courses. Complete with plenty of vertical gain and loss, these courses are well known for stellar views of the San Francisco skyline, Golden Gate Bridge and Mt. Mount Tamalpais.

Our spring Broken Arrow events are designed for great training, but also as a way to bring our community together before race weekend. We welcome our key partners to the event, including our presenting partner ACG (All Conditions Gear), Leki, Nomadix, Sidas, Hydrapak and more. It is common for each brand to have fun giveaways AND demos, so you won't go home disappointed.

While the event is free, we do require all runners to register.

Registration opens at 9am PST on February 16, 2026 and is limited to 500 runners.

There are no aid stations on course and we encourage you to come in a self-contained fashion. We also suggest that you to download the courses before arrival, as there are no formal guides at this event.

We'll have our usual great raffle with over $2,500 of giveaways from ACG (All Conditions Gear), LEKI, Nomadix, Garmin, Sidas, Hydrapak and more. There will also be discounts on apparel, equipment and footwear offered by our friends at Sports Basement.

This is also one of the first Ultrafly 2 demo opportunities in the country, so come prepared to take out the new trail racer that is designed specifically for every type of pace and ability level. We also expect other popular trail models to be on hand, including the ACG Zegama, Wildhorse and Pegasus Trail.

SHORT ROUTE | 5.6 mi / ~1,160 ft
This punchy sampler of the Berkeley Hills feels like a miniature Broken Arrow. The group will leave from Sports Basement and head straight into the Panoramic Hill climb, roll the Strawberry Canyon ridge, then enjoy a smooth, fast descent back to the store. Mixed singletrack and fire road with slick footing possible if wet. Great for newer trail runners or anyone wanting a spirited hour on dirt.

LONG ROUTE | 10.0 mi / ~1,830 ft
A classic Broken Arrow build with sustained Panoramic climbs linking Stonewall and Claremont, rolling ridge views, then a long, runnable descent to finish at the store. Surfaces alternate between rocky singletrack, firm fire road, and brief paved connectors. Poles optional but recommended for practice if you plan to use them on race day.

BIG LONG ROUTE | 16.59 mi / ~3,190 ft
This one’s your big day-out loop: starting at Sports Basement, head towards the trails, and climb up through Panoramic and Claremont to Grizzly Peak. Continue north toward Inspiration Point for some ridge running, followed by a long descent. Then, a second climb back to Grizzly Peak, finishing downhill back to SB. Expect paved roads, technical sections, and scenic views all along the way!

For the 6th year running, we’ve joined forces with San Francisco Running Company and ACG (All Conditions Gear) for an unforgettable weekend of community gatherings and trail running on the world-class trails of the Marin Headlands. The Broken Arrow team will head to Marin for an unforgettable Friday night happy hour and gathering, presented by ACG (details TBD).

On Saturday, April 18th at 8am we will gather again for a FREE, inclusive, welcoming day on some of the most beautiful trails of the Marin Headlands. Each spring, we enjoy ending our official training run calendar with SFRC, one of our longest-standing partners. Not only is SFRC a part of trail shop lore, they're a community cultivator in the Bay Area. We can guarantee you an epic day with new and old friends alike!
At the Broken Arrow Skyrace, whether you finish first or last, YOU are a rockstar. Our training runs are no different. SFRC staffer and local trail guru Chris Bartholomew has created three distinct courses for your enjoyment. And don't worry - whether you are just getting into the sport, or need those big training miles, we’ve got you covered in all capacities. We will post course specifics in the coming weeks but you can expect short, medium and long options.

While the event is free, we do require all runners to register.

Registration opens at 9am PST on February 16, 2026 and is limited to 300 runners.

Participants will enjoy a pre-run raffle, with over $2,500 of product giveaways, but the real party starts at the finish line. Our race crew will be waiting for you with a FREE post-run feed, including grilled goodness for all dietary types, adult beverages from Alibi Brewing, non-alcoholic brew from Best Day, and all kinds of other tasty calories. Hang out after your effort and recovery in style.
